EGX 2011 Diary: Day 3

Saturday, day 3, here we go again.  Once more into the breach go I.

Met up with Echoing_Sky.  Or should I say, Liquid Snake?

Attended a brief Naughty Dog Uncharted 3 dev session.  Nolan North in attendance.  NOLAN frickin’ NORTH!

Got a picture of myself with the lovely WipEout lady.  She was lovely.  And hot.  (mmm, boobies).  Lycra is a good look, if you can pull it off (!)

Started a grudge match with David Irwin from MediaKick.  Score ended up 4-2 to him.

We played: Awesomenauts, Tekken Tag, Tekken Tag 2, Soul Calibur V and Street Fighter X Tekken.

I played myself:

Ridge Racer Unbounded – a bit like a shit Burnout.

Sonic Generations – which has a nice 2-perspective thing with 90s Sonic and 2000s Sonic playing the same levels.

Inversion – a bland cover-based third person shooter, which did have some interesting gravity-bending mechanics, but not enough to save it from being an unthrilling experience.

Rayman Origins – Rayman back on top form with a 2D platformer which has 2-player co-op.  Kid friendly, easy-going.

Big news was Kevatron400 won the Nathan Drake lookalike competition, which was judged by Nolan North hisself.  So congrats to him.  Leatherette is now a meme.

Went back to TSA EGX Flat (again) to have drinks with the guys at a pub, missed last tube, so ended up spending the night.  Also recorded a vid diary with the newly-minted Nathan Drake.  Very funny, but so tiring, which is why I’m posting this after day 4 is finished.
